Some of day’s highlights were everyone’s costumes including a witch, werewolf, army man, runaway bride, two Spartan cheerleaders, a vampire and many more.

Throughout the day, a common theme emerged between a few of the employee’s costumes. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…. and we had a lot of flattery happening in our Dallas and Waco locations.

In Waco, customer service representative Forest celebrated “HAL-loween” by dressing up as Englander dZignPak President, Hal Whitaker, who was conveniently working in our Dallas office on Halloween. Forest/”Hal” spent his day working as usual and was kind enough to document the days events. (Photo Below)

In Dallas VP of Finance & Controller, Sydney Williams, dressed up as Perry Gilbert who is Englander dZignPak’s VP of Operations in Dallas. Sydney’s costume earned her one of the top prizes at the costume contest as well as several laughs around the office.(Photo Below)

Also in our Dallas office, CEO Marty Englander dressed up as fellow-owner and Executive Vice President Steve Hager who oversees our South Texas territory and is know for his cowboy hat, love of hunting, and deep appreciation for Tito’s Vodka. (Photo Below)

Danny & Justin picking up the EDZP t-shirts

Two local friends and college students were kind enough to help transport overstock Englander dZignPak t-shirts to Africa this month. Danny Dao (@Ddao2), Midway High school graduate and current Baylor student left August 2nd on a medical mission trip to Zambia, Africa and graciously agreed to take as many t-shirts with him as he could to donate to those he would meet. Also, special thanks to Danny’s friend, fellow Midway HS graduate, and current Texas Tech student, Justin Smith (@Jsmitty9219), who offered a helping hand picking up the shirts.

Thanks again to Danny and Justin and stay tuned for an update on Danny’s mission and picture’s from his trip.

Hal Whitaker, a long time Waco resident and “local celebrity” was chosen by the United Way of Waco to be roasted by his friends, family, and peers. The roast was held in downtown Waco benefiting the United Way, a charity close to Whitaker’s heart. The United Way Worldwide is the leadership and support organization for the network of nearly 1,800 community-based United Ways in 45 countries and territories.

The guest of honor was roasted by his two sons; Adam Whitaker and Taylor Madden, his long-time friend Curtis Cleveland, and current “boss” and close friend Marty Englander. The group shared stories of their own along with others submitted to them by close family and friends. While most of the anecdotes and jokes poked fun at Mr.Whitaker, the ultimate theme of the night was that he is truly admired by those close to him.

Hal was a great sport and helped the United Way raise over $10,000 for the local organization.

Englander dZignPak is excited to announce their accomplishment of winning the Gold OMA Award in the Home & Garden category for our ‘BIC Lighter Holiday ½ Pallet’ display in the Temporary division.

The BIC Lighter Holiday ½ Pallet Display

 Objectives: The primary objective was to provide sales lift during the holiday season by creating an inviting home environment using the elements of a curved fireplace, candles, and BIC’s warm color scheme of yellows and reds.  It was also important to make the display easy to execute at the store level.

Materials: Except for the wood pallet, the display is made entirely of E, B, and C-flute corrugated paper material, with the solid color areas being flexo-direct print and the process images being litho-labeled and mounted to corrugated paper. The quarter rounds are made of litho mounted E-flute. The protective elements, inner pack and shroud are C-flute.

Results: Sales lift was positive. The buyer was very pleased with the display and overall store execution was much better than previous PDQ executions.
