Englander dZignPak's GlobalShop 2012 Booth

Englander dZignPak was excited to exhibit for the 3^rd time at this year’s GlobalShop show in Las Vegas. Our booth (#426) was located in the ‘At-Retail Marketplace’ next to POPAI’s 2012 OMA Awards.

GlobalShop is the world’s largest annual trade show and conference dedicated to store design, visual merchandising, and shopper marketing. It is the only place where retailers and brand marketers can visit over 600 suppliers in one location. The GlobalShop show floor is conveniently divided into six sections of the retail design industry: The Store Fixturing Show, The Visual Merchandising Show, Store Design & Operations, The Digital Store, At-Retail Marketplace, and Retail Marketing Services. Englander dZignPak is excited to announce their accomplishment of winning the Gold OMA Award in the Home & Garden category for our ‘BIC Lighter Holiday ½ Pallet’ display in the Temporary division.

The BIC Lighter Holiday ½ Pallet Display

 Objectives: The primary objective was to provide sales lift during the holiday season by creating an inviting home environment using the elements of a curved fireplace, candles, and BIC’s warm color scheme of yellows and reds.  It was also important to make the display easy to execute at the store level.

Materials: Except for the wood pallet, the display is made entirely of E, B, and C-flute corrugated paper material, with the solid color areas being flexo-direct print and the process images being litho-labeled and mounted to corrugated paper. The quarter rounds are made of litho mounted E-flute. The protective elements, inner pack and shroud are C-flute.

Results: Sales lift was positive. The buyer was very pleased with the display and overall store execution was much better than previous PDQ executions.

We would like to congratulate the dZignPak soccer team on their Carrollton Park/Sandy Lake Soccer League Championship victory.

Waco, TX and Carrollton, TX- Englander Container and Display and dZignPak announced today that the two companies will merge forming Englander dZignPak, LLC.  The merger is expected to close during the first quarter of 2011.

Marty Englander, CEO of Englander, shared that he and dZignPak Chairman Doug Zadow have discussed opportunities for putting the two companies together for the past couple of years.  “After we added our digital and screen-printing operation in Carrollton, the synergies became more apparent. We felt we could be a stronger company by joining forces,” said Englander. Zadow added, “We have been partners with Englander at TexCorr, our corrugated sheet feeder, since 1997 and are excited about what this new partnership will bring to the market.”

Steve Hager, dZignPak partner, shared his enthusiasm over bringing two 40+ year-old independent companies together.  “My father Ted Hager, founder of Hager Containers, now dZignPak, and Englander Container founder, Louis Englander, have been friends and business associates for many years.  Carrying the traditions they started to a newly formed venture is something that makes me extremely proud,” said Hager.  Hal Whitaker, President of Englander, stated that the similar foundations of the two companies should make the transition smooth and allow the focus to be on their customers and the future.

Englander acquired another well-known independent corrugated display manufacturer Stribling Packaging and Display in Rogers, AR in July 2010.  “We were very familiar with Stribling and partnered with them on projects in their market”, said dZignPak partner Carl Renner. “Having an expanded footprint that now includes Northwest Arkansas, Waco and Austin/San Antonio along with Dallas/Fort Worth, and having new products will enhance our offering to our existing customers.”

Englander Container & Display, headquartered in Waco, Texas, is a privately held manufacturer of corrugated packaging and displays as well as screen and digitally printed in-store marketing solutions.  Louis Englander founded the company in 1967.

Hager Containers, was founded in 1970 by Ted Hager and changed to dZignPak when the majority ownership was acquired by Doug Zadow.  The combined company will have revenues of $44 million and 200 employees.  Marty Englander will be CEO of the new company, Doug Zadow will serve as Chairman, Hal Whitaker will be the President and COO, and Steve Hager and Carl Renner will be Executive Vice Presidents.
